Lunch at Bowls Baby, Essendon

When the guys from Bowls Baby invite you along to join the party and visit their new dining experience in Essendon, it was always going to be a strong yes from me!

The newest venture of the Carusos (think PinkieNo.19 Society and St Rose), Bowls Baby offers a relaxing dining experience where there are minimal tables but plenty of chairs, to sit down with your mates for a quick chat over you health bowl or smoothie.

The interior is everything we’ve come to expect from the Carusos, with exposed brick walls the main focus point and a gorgeous pink neon sign, which is great for that perfect “instagram” shot.

The dramatic lush greenery hangs from the ceiling which brings the outside in, and more pops of pink are scattered throughout from the pink ceiling to the pink digital menu – even the water bottles are pink!

The menu is simple, non-fussy and full of nutritious combinations. Not feeling like what you see? Easy, you can create your own Wholefoods bowl with a base, protein and up to 4 toppings plus don’t forget that dressing!

We decided on 2 smoothies, a Breakfast Bowl and a Wholefoods Bow – BEST DECISION EVER!

Boy Blue Breakfast Bowl – $13.00

For the Breakfast Bowl, I chose the Boy Blue – blueberries, chocolate protein, natural peanut butter, almond milk topped with chocolate granola, blueberries and coconut.

For $13, this is one affordable smoothie bowl – and look at that decent amount of peanut butter and blueberries – HEAVEN!!

Good Day Superfood Smoothie – $10.00

The Good Day Superfood Smoothie consists of Açai, strawberries, blueberries and apple juice. It is extremely refreshing and very easy to drink. A nice blend with added nutrition from the Açai.

Chipotle Wholebowl- $16

The Chipotle Wholebowl was SO GOOD! I’m talking some serious flavour packed into the grass-fed beef, and the spice level was out of this world. The cucumber definitely helped cool the taste buds and I enjoyed the jalapeño & lime vinaigrette.

The serving size is massive too, I nearly couldn’t finish it!

Golden Superfood Smoothie – $9.50

I’m so happy I ordered the Golden Superfood Smoothie – OMG! That raw chocolate certainly packs a punch and perfectly matched the banana, maple, roasted walnuts and vanilla bean blend. Making my smoothie all the more cheekier!

This is such an amazing concept, and proves you don’t need to spend big to have a fab brunch nor blow the budget trying trying (TRYING HA!) to stay healthy!

Have you tried Bowls Baby yet? Let me know what your favourite bowl is!
