Dinner at Bay City Burrito, St Kilda

If you are reading this, and have no dinner plans for this weekend, then I thoroughly recommend you throw Bay City Burrito on your to-do list.

Not only does it cater for the meat-eaters with their gigantic burritos full oh different meats and rice plus beans they also have heaps of vegan options.

First things first, we needed a drink! I ordered the BCB Mandarin Margarita $12, although I was a little sad it didn’t come in a margarita glass it was still very tasty. I just wanted fancy glass for the photos haha!

Bay City Burrito have created a signature margarita using Jarritos Mandarin Soda, lime juice, sugar syrup, Reposado Tequila & Triple sec, rimmed with chilli salt.

The chilli salt was a spicy hit, and packed a punch but I loved the addition.

For starters we ordered a serve of the Jalapeño Poppers $14.80 as I had seen these all over Instagram and everyone raves about them.

The jalapeños are filled with cream cheese, crumbed then quick fried and are served with chipotle-mayo and lime sour cream. Omg the kick you get when you bite into them is insane, and that cream cheese filling is so good. Get them!

We also got one serve of the Mexican Grilled Corn On The Cob $7, which is brushed with chipolte mayo then rolled in grated cheese and spices.

Traditional corn on the cob, cooked nicely and easy to eat. Love how its rolled in cheese, because cheese is life right?

My dining partner had the Bay City Bomber Burrito $18.70 however I didn’t take a photo of it as let’s be honest. While burritos taste AMAZING, they don’t photograph well ha! I will tell you, they raved about it.

It had a combination of steak & chicken, black beans, spanish rice, melted cheese, guacamole, lime sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, spanish onions, cilantro, black olives, & mild salsa.

They stated “it was the best burrito ever”.

I had two of the Pulled Jackfruit Taco’s $7.50 each. I love love that vegans can enjoy their tacos and that the BCB guys have taken vegan food to the next level!

Slow cooked pulled bbq jackfruit and crunchy slaw, topped with chipotle Aioli. It was served on a grilled corn tortilla and garnished with cilantro.

What’s jackfruit? It’s a fruit but it has the consistency of pulled pork, and when slowly cooked in BBQ sauce, it’s so good!

Dinner at Bay City Burrito was superb, and as mentioned in my first paragraph is a joint you want to try. Tradition Mexican food that you will need a siesta after eating all the delicious food.
