Product Review – SEEH Skincare

Guys, you know I love an oil cleanser. They are my absolute favourite for removing my heavy makeup. Think waterproof eyeliner, mascara, lipstick. So when I saw the SEEH Skincare CLEANSE Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm in action on social media, I just knew I had to try it! I reached out to the very lovely Maker, Sophie to collaborate.

Sophie is a qualified Chemical Engineer with a passion for skin health, which is what led her on the path to creating SEEH Skincare. The range has been formulated with a bunch of Chemists in Sydney and are all natural, utilising Australian plants. SEEH Skincare also holds a PETA Certification.

Currently there are two products in the range;

  • CLEANSE Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm
  • SMOOTH Exfoliating Facial Polish

The CLEANSE Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm can be used on its own as a daily cleanser with the addition of the SMOOTH Exfoliating Facial Polish to remove dead skin cells.

img_7713

 CLEANSE Makeup Melting Cleansing Balm – $63.95 AUD

The Cleansing Balm is a massive 110g of solid goodness, with a little going a long way. As you work the balm into your skin you can see that it will start dissolving your makeup immediately. I love that I don’t need to work the balm into my skin which allows me to be gentle, especially around the eye area.

Lots of yummy oils have gone into this such as apricot seed oil, rosehip and olive oil. It smells absolutely divine, with the use of mandarin, orange, bergamot and lavender essential oils. It is an extremely light smell, and not overpowering.

As I mentioned above, even with regular use I can see this lasting quite sometime making it great value. I enjoy using this in the evening to remove my makeup, however this can be used both morning and night.

The SEEH Skincare website states this is suitable for all skin types especially those with sensitive or dry skin.

img_7715

SMOOTH Exfoliating Facial Polish – $26.95 AUD

The Facial Polish is a combination of Apricot Seed & Rice powder and works in harmony to remove dead skin. The ingredients won’t harm the oceans and rivers as they are completely biodegradable.

The Exfoliating Facial Polish has been designed to be used with the Cleansing Balm. I placed a small amount of the Cleansing Balm into my palm then sprinkled the Facial Polish (only a little) over it. I then massage this into my skin in a circular motion.

The first time I used this, I was a tad too rough. I should have known better, I may have also sprinkled a little too much ha! So keep that in mind the first time you use this.

After using this, my skin feels clean and noticeably brighter. It doesn’t feel tight which I put down to the Cleansing Balm working it’s hydrating ways.

img_7716

I’ve enjoyed using both of these products, especially the Cleansing Balm as I struggle to find cleansers that are able to remove my makeup easily. I also love that this is a vegan, cruelty-free brand made in Australia.

SEEH Skincare is also involved in an amazing initiative where $1 from every purchase is donated to i=Change which provides services to assist with safe births, keeps girls in school, empowers migrants and more.

You can find the products here https://www.seehskincare.com and also via Instagram @seehskincare. Free shipping on orders over $75 and AfterPay available.

Have a wonderful week!

Product Review – Be Fraiche

I was so excited when Helen reached out to me, through mutual introduction by our dear friend Louella from Kiss Ready Lips, and asked me to trial her Starter Kit.

I had met Helen at the 2017 Sydney Finders Keepers Market, where I was introduced to her line. The Happy Organic Girl was only 6 months young and I was still nervous to say who I was and what I was doing with my blog!

Helen was passionate, engaged and I loved hearing a little about the products. The Bean Scrub quickly drew my attention, alongside The Flower Face Cream.

Helen started Be Fraiche with her skin type in mind. Sensitive Combination skin. Struggling to find anything that worked for her, Helen took it upon herself to create a skincare line that would work but also be fun. She didn’t take this lightly either, working hard with study to increase her knowledge on the matter.

In 2015, Helen completed her Diploma in Organic Skincare Formulation and Tutor Training (wow!). She also travelled to Grasse in France to learn perfumery.

What an inspiration!

img_5688.jpg

Helen has created the perfect sized Starter Kit for her Belle’s. Priced at $38 AUD, it includes everything you need to get a feel for the range.

The Starter Kit includes the following;

  • The Tea Cleanser, 50ml
  • Bean Face Scrub, 10ml
  • The Flower Face Cream, 10ml
  • Seed Face Oil, 5ml

Plus it comes in the cutest little bag that is perfect for travelling!

The Tea Cleanser
The Tea Cleanser comes in a handy pump bottle, and when pumped is a light weight foam. The Be Fraiche website mentions you can use this twice daily, I have enjoyed using it in the morning as I find it extremely refreshing.

The scent of citrus is welcoming (especially to help me wake up!).

I speak often that I require an oil based cleanser in the PM as I wear heavy make up but this would make a beautiful second cleanser.

The Bean Scrub
As I mentioned above, when I first met Helen, it was The Bean Scrub that drew me in. What was it? Was it actual beans – I was so intrigued!

Formulated with Japanese Adzuki beans which contain saponin, it works to remove dead skin cells and brighten the skin. This is a gentle exfoliator, which my skin loves.

I found that when I use this after The Tea Cleanser, my skin glows! My skin also doesn’t react due to the fineness of the scrub.

The Bean Scrub also uses Australian Pink Clay which works to draw out impurities.

img_5696-1.jpg

The Flower Face Cream
I am often too busy raving about my love of face oils (ha! never fear that will come after the next photo) that I often underestimate the power of a great face cream.

The Flower Face Cream isn’t mucking around either, it contains a bunch of ingredients  that work to soothe your skin such as rosehip and seabuckthorn (one of my faves).

Calendula is the perfect to addition that will help calm those with a little redness of the skin.

I found the Flower Face Cream light and that it easily melts into the skin. A little goes a long way, and while the Starter size is in a little pot, the full size is in a handy tube.

The Seed Face Oil
When I realised there was a face oil in the Starter pack, you should have seen my face light up! For the 100th time, yes I absolutely adore a good face oil.

Helen is onto something with the seabuckthorn fruit extract, this stuff is an absolute hero ingredient. This stuff will heal your skin, so perfect for those with sensitive skin or those with dry skin. Not only that, this has 8, yes 8 oils that work in harmony with your skin.

The scent isn’t strong, it smells very natural and earthy which I find pleasant. I use this in the evening alongside by Gua Sha tool as part of my facial massage routing – and I love it.

img_5688

I will note also, that all of the Be Fraiche products are made right here in Australia.

Our relationship has blossomed and I am so excited to meet Helen again in a couple of weeks, to talk more about her passion and goals for Be Fraiche. Thank you Helen for all of your support also!

Be sure to reach out to Helen via @befraicheskincare or via her website www.befraiche.com

Please let me know if you have any questions or who you would like to see next on the blog!

Product Review – The Face Oil Collection from Mermaid Cove Organics

Every now and then I meet these amazing Makers who I form this wonderful connection with. Sara from Mermaid Cove Organics is one of those Makers. I remember following her, even before her online store opened. I remember loving her username, Mermaid Cove Organics. It sounded so intriguing!

I was also lucky to feature Sara in my first ever Meet the Makers interview, which can be found here. It was all new to me, I was nervous if my interview series would work, would people like it but Sara was so kind and generous with her time – I’m extremely grateful for that!

Since then Sara and Mermaid Cove Organics has flourished, stocking some lovely small-batch products from brands such as Herbs and HeartWild Crafted Organics and now even her own line Mermaid Cove Organics.

The new range from Mermaid Cove Organics features 3 gorgeous face oils all blended & formulated by Sara herself. I was extremely lucky to sample the 3 oils before they went live and I was so impressed I wanted a full size right then and there!

img_3125

The 3 Blends are;

  • Ocean Glow Face Oil, beneficial for dry and sensitive skin- $51 AUD
  • Ocean Nectar Face Oil, beneficial for dry and mature skin – $57 AUD
  • Mermaid Face Oil, beneficial for combination, oily and acne-prone skin – $31 AUD

My absolute favourite is the Ocean Glow Face Oil, the beautiful Jasmine essential oil draws me in and transports me to a tropical island (mainly Hawaii, where I’ll be next month!). It also has German Chamomile Essential Oil which acts as an anti-inflammatory and also helps with dryness. Jojoba and Chamomile act to add moisture back into the skin while also healing.

Ocean Nectar is perfect for mature-aged skin as it contains Primrose Oil which not only hydrates but also has high levels of antioxidants. The use of Carrot Seed Essential Oil promotes cellular repair, while Camellia Oil assists with collagen production.

One of the key ingredients I was extremely excited about in the Mermaid Face Oil was the Tamanu Oil. Indigenous to the Pacific Islands, Tamanu Oil has been used for centuries to help with skin tone and even those with oily skin. The inclusion of Grapeseed Oil further assists those with oily skin by helping with sebum production. It is beautifully scented with Lavender Essential Oil.

img_5713

Packaging of the Face Oils is luxe, presented in an easy to use pump bottle with gold lid it sits beautifully on the beauty shelf in the bathroom.

Application is easy, I like to apply 2 pumps in the evening once I have cleansed however this can be used in the morning too. I prefer to use it at night as I find it extremely calming with the inclusion of the essential oils. Allow the oil to enter the skin for 3-5 minutes before applying any further skincare products.

A really cool fact about Mermaid Cove Organics is that they are living and breathing their core value of sustainability by using Sendle to post out your purchases. Sendle is Australia’s first carbon neutral shipping company! Amazing!

Sara has offered a wonderful treat for you also, if you wish to try the new Face Oil range use code “thehappygirl10” at checkout to receive 10% off your order.

Let me know how you like to incorporate face oils into your beauty routine!

Product Review – Super Fruit Exfoliating Cleanser with Blueberries, Grape Skin & Acai – Scout Cosmetics

By now, I think it’s fair to say that we are all aware of my cleanser addiction, and if you aren’t well you need to take a look over my previous product reviews!

When I was asked to provide a review on the very yummy Super Fruit Exfoliating Cleanser with Blueberries, Grape Skin & Acai – it’s safe to say I jumped at the chance!

If you weren’t aware I actually interview Sylvie, the founder of Scout Cosmetics a couple of months ago for Meet the Makers . You can find that interview here.

img_3435

Priced at $34.95 for 150ml and made with 86% certified organic ingredients, it is extremely good value.

Packing is on point, just like the rest of the Scout Cosmetics range. The cleanser is easily accessible with the handy pump, and I find that 2-3 pumps is all you need.

While packaging doesn’t make or break a product (it’s whats inside that counts), I really love the purple label against the purple in the product – it’s fun, quirky and adds a pop of colour to the bathroom!

img_3436

As the name suggests, hero ingredients in the Super Fruit Exfoliating Cleanser are;

  • Blueberries – assists with collagen productions
  • Grape Skin – antioxidant rich and works to repair skin cells
  • Acai – vitamin and mineral packed including omegas 3,6 and 9 plus vitamin B, E & C are just some of them

While the name suggests it is an exfoliator, I was interested to feel and see no environmentally-friendly exfoliating beads or ground nuts etc. The reason for this is the natural fruit extracts contain AHA’s (alpha hydroxy acid) and therefore act as the exfoliant.

img_3437-1

I found the cleanser removed my foundation easily, and didn’t leave behind any residue. It was also able to remove an oily based balm I used and left my skin feeling clean.

I enjoyed how easily it lathers, I simply rubbed the product between my palms to activate the lather before applying to my face. This ensured my skin didn’t pull while I rubbed the cleanser onto my face.

The fruity scent isn’t too over-powering and I pick up hints of Aloe Vera which is another key ingredient that helps the skin maintain its moisture and can also reduce redness in the skin.

I hope you all have an amazing week ahead! Kick those goals!

Product Review – Qasil Powder, Qasil Organics

Roughly 3 months ago, I reviewed the Qasil Organics, Qasil Facial Mask. This was the first product from Qasil Organics and is a liquid based mask. You can find my full review of the Qasil Facial Mask here.

After reading about the Qasil Leaf and how it can benefit the skin I was quite excited to try the Qasil Facial Mask, even today, it is still a mask I reach for as part of my beauty routine.

img_1509

A quick overview of the Qasil Leaf – it makes for a great exfoliant and also acts as a cleanser. Qasil Leaf is from the Gob Tree which is found in East Africa.

At the same time I was reviewing the original mask, Qasil Organics launched a new product – Qasil Powder. This is a dry powder that you mix yourself as you need it. I was excited to try this too as I enjoy mixing my own masks. Generally there is less waste and they are more concentrated.

img_1508

The Qasil Organics, Qasil Powder retails for $30 however it comes in a large resealable pouch weighing in at 200g. This is a large amount of product and well worth the value, as you are mixing this yourself with water before applying to the face.

As I mentioned, all you need to do is mix 1/2 teaspoon with a little water and mix until you have a smooth consistency. Apply to the face and leave for 5 minutes, then rinse.
Just like the Qasil Facial Mask (and pretty much any mask!), I like to wash this off in the shower as it can be a little messy.

I’ve noticed since using the Qasil Facial Mask and Qasil Powder, my skin feels soft to touch, smoother and brighter.

You can purchase the two products from the Qasil Organics website.

Happy Masking!

Product Review – Vitamin C Brightening Serum with Kakadu Plum, Tumeric & Rosehip, Scout Cosmetics

Ask me when my favourite time of the month is and I can say its when I review a selected Scout Cosmetics product!
July’s product was the Vitamin C Brightening Serum with Kakadu Plum, Tumeric & Roship – I was super excited to try this one.

The Vitamin C Brightening Serum with Kakadu Plum, Tumeric & Roship retails for $45.95 and can be purchased from the Scout Cosmetics website.

img_0164-1

Like all Scout Cosmetics products, this is jam-packed with a bunch of super ingredients such as Kakadu Plum, Aloe Vera juice, Tumeric, Rosehip and Orange Peel.

I was really interested to learn what healing benefits Tumeric had. I mean, I knew it was a superfood and great for digestion but how could it benefit my face?
Fun fact, Tumeric has anti-inflammatory properties and it can assist with healing acne scars plus reducing breakouts.

img_0167-1

I’ve spoken about Kakadu Plum and how it has more Vitamin C than any other ingredient. Why is Vitamin C important in skincare? It holds amazing anti-aging properties and assists the skin produce collagen.
Rosehip also assists with preventing those dreaded wrinkles!

One of the main things I adore about Scout Cosmetics is the use of organic ingredients where possible. In this 30ml bottle of goodness, 95% of the ingredients are organic.  Very impressive!

img_0165

While using this light-weight formula in the evenings, my skin feels hydrated and also visibly plumper. I love putting this on just after a shower when my skin is warm and ready to soak up all the goodness.
I really enjoy the smell of this, and the light fragrance it leaves once applied to my face.

As with all the Scout Cosmetics range, this comes in an easy to use plastic bottle with dropper that makes application easy.

Have you tried any of the Scout Cosmetics products? Happy Friday Eve!

Product Review – Kiss Ready Lips

On Saturday the lovely Louella from Kiss Ready Lips, sat down with us for Meet the Makers and to tell us a little more about herself. You can find her interview here..

A little recap, I met Louella at the Sydney Finders Keepers in December last year and fell in love with her positivity. Just watching her explain how her products worked and why she created them, made me so interested – I quickly snapped up one of the gift sets, a scrub and a lip balm!

Louella crafts all the products by hand. After being impressed with the nutritional and healing properties of the chia seed, this paved the way for Louella to learn more about the superfood and see how it could be incorporated into skincare and beauty.

I absolutely love the Rose Omega Face Balm, with its silky smooth texture and the gentle exfoliation from the oats…more about that soon!

img_7480

Louella also has Kiss Ready Baby and Mama under the umbrella which includes lighter versions of the oils specifically made for baby’s skin and nursing mums.

All products are vegan and cruelty free too!

img_7482

Omega Rose Face Balm – $58AUD
As I mentioned above, I absolutely LOVE the Rose Omega Face Balm. It is so dreamy. It has a creamy texture that melts when you apply it your face. It has finely milled oat flour which acts as an extremely gentle exfoliator.

It has a subtle scent of rose, which reminds me of some Turkish Delight.

I use this as my second cleanse, due to my use of waterproof make up, however I find it cleanses extremely well and could be used as a first cleanse.

You can also use this as a lip balm and on dry patches of skin such as elbows, knees and feet.

img_7491

Omega Rose Face Mist – $26.95AUD
I like to keep my bottle of Omega Rose Face Mist in the fridge, to use as a little facial treat when it’s warm or when my face starts to feel a little dry from the heating.

It’s nice to use as a little stress-reliever too as the scent of rose is quite calming.

img_7481
Light Chia Oil – $25.00AUD
The hero of the family, the Light Chia Oil is made up of 4 ingredients;
* Sweet Almond Oil
* Chia Oil, sourced within Australia
* Rose Geranium extract oil
* Rosemary extract oil

Another multi-purpose product, the Light Chia Oil can be used is multiple ways. Since my operation I’ve been using it on my scars (along with other oils I have) and also I like to use it on the ends of my hair.

It comes with a handy dropper, so easy to apply just the right amount.

Superfoods Antioxidant Face Mask – $50AUD
This mask lives up to its name with an antioxidant rich combination of green superfoods such as chia, spinach and kale – it smells very green, it reminds me a little of a vegetable soup.

Green in colour, it comes as a powder which when mixed with water becomes a paste which you then apply to your face. The benefits of this is the mask, when in powder form, is more potent and rich in vitamins. It’s also a great way to minimise waste.

I am a big fan of this mask, I find it leaves my skin feeling smooth, soft and plump.

Kiss Ready Lips is a great little Australian brand, created by someone who is extremely passionate about what they are doing. Although I am a big fan of Louella, she is also very supportive of myself and what I’m doing for small business’s. For this I’m incredibly grateful.

If you would like to check out the Kiss Ready range, simply click here.

You can also find Louella on Instagram – @ kissreadylips

As always, any questions please feel free to reach out – I love to chat!

Product Review – Elemental Renewal Serum, Five Elements

Several months back I was sent a bottle of the Elemental Renewal Serum by Five Elements to try out and review. Since then, this little bottle of goodness is my go-to for when I travel.

Created by Karen McKay, who spent years studying science and botany, Karen was able to formulate her first product – Five Elements Skin Tonic to assist a friend with severe eczema. Word spread amongst family and friends and before long Karen was encouraged to start her own brand. Five Elements was born!

img_6930

You may be thinking, why call it Five Elements. This is due to the unique 5 plant formula that has been researched and developed for each individual plants properties. This formula is then used alongside super oils, such as Avocado, Jojoba and Rosehip oil that is great for the skin.

Extracts used in the formulas are grown in Karen’s herb farm located in Marlborough, New Zealand.

img_6932

As I mentioned above, I love using it when I travel. Once I board, I do a quick cleanse before I apply the Elemental Renewal Serum. I do a quick roll with either my jade or quartz roller, then sit back and enjoy the flight.

When I arrive at my destination, my skin always feels so hydrated. There is so tightness, nor does it feel sticky. The serum also smells like heaven!

img_6934

Not only are Five Elements creating products that contain active ingredients, they are also doing some great work to protect our environment.

For the months of June and July, Five Elements are donating 15% of all profits to the Bat Recovery Project in the Pelorus Bridge Reserve. In New Zealand, bats are considered an endangered species. Funds donated go to supporting the preservation of the species.

img_6933

Five Elements ships to Australia, with shipping approximately $7.50 NZD, however do check on their website for your specific location pricing.

Below are all the social media deets for Five Elements;

  • Website: https://www.five-elements.co.nz
  • Instagram: @fiveelementsnz

Thank you to Five Elements for reaching out to me, I absolutely love the Elemental Renewal Serum! I also love what you doing for the environment and your contribution to New Zealand’s conservation efforts.

Happy humpday!

Meet the Makers – Sylvie from Scout Cosmetics

Tonight, we catch up with Sylvie from Scout Cosmetics which is super exciting as Sylvie has built an amazing cruelty free beauty brand!

I have been using 3 Scout skin care products for roughly 3 months now, you may have seen my product reviews posted on here.

Scout Cosmetics has 3 different ranges;
* Skincare
* Mineral Make Up
* Handcare, specifically a nail polish range and remover

img_3999-1

I get such a buzz every Saturday night when a new Meet the Makers interview is posted. There are so many reasons for this but namely, a brand is getting an opportunity to share their story, their purpose and their why.
Readers are getting to know the brand a little more and finally, our little Green Beauty Community gets just a little bit bigger.

I admit, I get quite nervous when I ask a Maker if they would like to be part of the series. I have self doubts, is my platform big enough? Am I wasting someone’s time, and as we know time is a precious commodity.
Then I wake myself up and say, no girl you got this!

I’m so glad I built up the courage to ask Sylvie as I find her extremely inspirational!

“As a woman, I enjoy feeling beautiful, special and self-empowered” –  Sylvie

Time for you to grab a glass of wine and sit down with us as we get to know Sylvie from Scout Cosmetics just that little bit more!

R. Thank you for taking some time to answer a few questions. I’m extremely excited to learn some insights from such a successful woman in business. Firstly, what lead you to starting your business?

S. My foray into the world of beauty was driven by a love of natural cosmetics along with an inability to find quality Australian-made organic beauty products. Before launching SCOUT l knew that many of the natural brands that were available at the time either were from overseas (primarily the US) or did not offer the efficacy, quality and colour l was looking for in natural cosmetics.

R. I love that instead of just settling on something that wasn’t what you were after you went ahead to create something that could be available in Australia and also offer the quality you were looking for. How important is the use of organic/natural ingredients to you and your brand?

S. Most people forget that skin is the largest organ in the body, meaning the ingredients within any skincare or makeup product we use are being absorbed into our bodies. Chemical toxins are very destructive whereas natural products, including natural plant and fruit extracts are better for your skin as they possess a nutritional value that help to support the skin.

As a brand, we have always been focused on the effectiveness, quality and integrity of our products and this is what has made the choice for natural/organic so important. When you choose a Certified Organic product, you know that it has gone through rigorous testing to ensure that it does not contain synthetic fragrances, colouring agents, ethoxylated and GM ingredients, silicones and nano particles among others. One of the most important aspects for me is that there is definitely no animal testing permitted.

img_5075

R. It’s so true, I know before I started my journey with Green Beauty I never used to worry about the ingredients or animal testing status (even though I love all animals), it just never crossed my mind. Now, they are the two biggest things I look for when choosing skincare and make up products. I think education is so important, especially from a young age! Is there anything new or exciting happening in the world of Scout Cosmetics?

S. We have a lot of exciting superfood skincare innovations in the works and definitely plan on extending the range in the near future as the current offerings have been received so well to date. Growth in face and body products are planned for the second half of 2018 and beyond.

R. Oh that does sound exciting! My favourite thing about Scout Cosmetics is the different ingredient combinations. For instance, I’m currently trialling (review due 27th) the Balance & Replenish Light Moisturise with Calendula, Red Mandarin & Pumpkin and I’m loving how you have chosen ingredients that compliment each other so perfectly!

I mentioned above the need for education, especially around ingredients in skincare and make up, do you have any tips for those wanting to move away from mainstream beauty products and into green beauty – where should they start?

S. I think this can be a really daunting and challenging concept, having to completely change-up a beauty routine. Our skin can be super sensitive to change so l would definitely recommend starting small. Make small changes to your daily routine by swapping out a cleanser or adding a serum, to help you skin naturally adapt to the changeover. Keep in mind that many organic ingredients are highly active so allowing your skin to become accustomed to the impact of an active beauty product is key.

img_3997-1

R. That’s a great tip, and most likely a lot easier on the pocket by starting small and working out what works for the individual before they outlay a bit of cash!
Apart from leading the way in the beauty industry, where do you draw your inspiration from?

S. As a mother and wife, my family and three boys are definitely one of my biggest daily inspirations, especially looking at the wonderful men they have grown into. I also find myself continually inspired by the SCOUT brand and our work to continually push the boundaries of natural and organic beauty and growing our brand awareness and global business.

R. I imagine a lot of research goes into what is happening in the beauty industry, and how to stay ahead of the game (as they say!). What does any given day look like for you?

S. Every day is different when it comes to owning and operating your own cosmetics business. From testing and discussing new products and formulations with our manufacturing team to liaising with stockists and retailers and staying ahead of the game when it comes to innovations in the natural/organic world, there’s really no slowing down.

R. It sounds extremely busy, but also very rewarding. With being on the go, and nurturing not only your family but the business, how do you take time to look after yourself and practice self-care?

S. I think it is so important to take time for yourself each day in any way you can, given how busy our lives can get. Whether this is taking some extra time to pamper ourselves, meditate or spending quality time with family and loved ones, it’s simply important to take a holistic approach and self-care.

I agree, and I think that is something I have learnt from the Meet the Makers Series. Looking after yourself and self-care is different for everyone, find what works for you and remember to love you!

Thank you so much Sylvie for taking the time to chat with us. I absolutely love what you are doing at Scout Cosmetics and find you, as a person, extremely inspirational #girlpower

As Sylvie says, “Every woman should be free to feel beautiful, special and self empowered”.

Have a wonderful weekend all,

Renee

Product Review – Devine Oils

When writing a review, I love to read the “about us” section on the brand’s website to find out a little more about the maker and their why. I just love hearing about people’s passions and to see people living their dreams.

The founder, Louise Devine has quite an interesting bio. I was able to learn that Louise moved to Australia in 2006 with her daughter which coincided with her brand, Devine Oils being born.

Without even trying the products, I fell in love immediately with the use of glass to hold the products in rather than plastic – helping reduce their environmental footprint.

Scent is important to me, I really enjoy using products that are scented. Luckily I don’t suffer from irritable skin. I find the range, that uses essential oils gentle on my skin – and they smell great!

img_1831-1

All products are made the day before they are sent out, to ensure the products received are at their freshest and most potent. They are also vegan, palm oil free and do not contain parabens.

The below product photos are of the trial size products, however the price quoted is for the full size. Louise does have trial kits available on her website located here;

https://www.devineoils.com.au

Palm Oil Free Cream Cleanser – $49.50
As the name suggests the Palm Oil Free Cream Cleanser has a lovely creamy base, with one of the main ingredients noted being Aloe Vera. I like to use this cleanser for my 2nd cleanse, mainly to breathe in the beautiful essential oils of Frankincense and Sweet Fennel.

img_1829

Light Day Oil and Night Oil Treatment – Detox & Repair, both $44.50
I love, LOVE face oils (second to cleansers ha!) rather than using a moisturiser. I find my skin loves oils, and it especially loved the Night Oil Treatment, with its subtle scent. It is the perfect oil for sleeping, sending me off to the land of nod.

I found the Light Day Oil lived up to its name and was lighter in consistency. I found the scent slightly stronger than the Night Oil Treatment but still enjoyable. I love using this on the weekend when I don’t wear any make up and my skin can breathe.

img_1828

Soothing Eye Serum – $45.00
Easy to use and perfect in the little pump bottle, I found a lot went a long way. The Soothing Eye Serum has a mild scent and a creamy texture. I found subtle changes to the skin under eyes, it felt hydrated with visible elasticity.

img_1827

Pore Minimiser Nourish & Repair and Open Pore Serum Detox & Repair, $49.50
Like many, I do suffer from open pores especially on my nose. I was excited to try both of these serums in the hope they helped reduce the size of them. Both serums have a gel texture and like the eye serum you do only need a tiny amount.

The serums dry quickly and felt light weight on my skin.

img_1826

I really love this brand, the products are made with great natural ingredients. They are also doing great things for the environment, as I mentioned, by using glassware for the products rather than plastic.

Louise has extensive knowledge with what works best for the skin, including tried and tested formulations. I’m pleased to have been introduced to this brand as I will now be a regular, especially that cleanser!

Pop on over to check out the full range and drop Louise an email if you have any questions, I’m sure she would love to hear from you.
